 Greatness Of Temple:

Sage Sathya Maharshi had woshipped Lord in this temple.  As in Madurai, both shrines of Lord and Mother are facing east.  It is not possible to go around the Shiva temple alone.  The Giri Valam covers both Shiva and Vishnu temples.  The twin temple was built by Mahendra Pallava 1300 years ago.

  Temple History:

The Shiva temple is built with a Perumal temple also covered by a single compound wall noted for its design and the blessings experienced by the devotees.  Lord Satygiriswara accompanied by Mother Venuvaneswari is all merciful to His devotees.  In days of yore, Goddess of Dharma was hiding here as Dharma was losing its might.  She was worshipping Perumal for the re-emergence of Dharma.  The region was dense with bamboo (Venu) trees then, hence Ambica is praised as Venuvaneswari.  Lord Satygiriswara appears as a handsome Shivalinga.

Special Features:

Miracle Based: Sage Sathya Maharshi had woshipped Lord in this temple. As in Madurai, both shrines of Lord and Mother are facing east. It is not possible to go around the Shiva temple alone. The Giri Valam covers both Shiva and Vishnu temples. The twin temple was built by Mahendra Pallava 1300 years ago.
