  Temple History:

Sri Anjaneya in the temple assures all welfare and safety to devotees with His Abhaya Mudra of the right hand.  Secondly, He is holding His celebrated Club that destroys the inner enemies as pride, arrogance, anger greed and the enemies external.  The third is His facing West that ensures health.  When Sri Lakshmana fell fainted during the Ramayana period, Sri Anjaneya brought the Sanjeevi mountain with its life saving herbals, a piece of the hill fell in the Western ghats, hence his facing West assures total cure from any disease the devotee is suffering from.
His legs are towards south, the direction of Yama the God of Death.  Worshipping the legs relieves the devotee of fear of death assuring longevity.
What makes Sri Anjaneya handsome is His long Tail.  As it is facing North the direction of Kubera the Lord of Wealth, the devotee becomes well-to-do in this worship.  The other feature is that we have the darshan of the tail in full form which is not so in some temple.  The devotee is relieved of all the adverse aspects of the planets on him/her.  It is the belief of the Hindus that Lord Sri Rama, while leaving for His Vaikunda Abode after His Avatar said that He would not be in the heart of one who does not chant the glory of Sri Anjaneya along with His Rama Nama.
Almost all Gods and Devas play a role in the Ramayana epic.  Lord Shiva played His role as Sri Anjaneya.  Anjaneya darshan and Shiva darshan make no difference among the Saivite and Vaishnavite sects.
As Mother Sri Mahalakshmi graces devotees from the Chest of Lord Vishnu, She graces from the right palm of Sri Anjaneya in this temple.  His eyes represent Sun and Moon.  It is believed they are Sun during the day and Moon after Sunset.
