Lord Sastha appears with a whip in His hand. It is noteworthy that the idol of Sastha with His consorts Pooranai and Pushkalai is made of a single stone producing a sweet sound if tapped. There is a very big Nandhi in the temple opposite Lord Sastha shrine in a mandap specially built for the purpose. It is rare that Nandhi has a prominent place in a Sastha temple. | | |
