Lord Shiva is a Swayambumurthi in the temple. Drumstick is the sacred tree. While we see Lord Nataraja dancing with his long hair flying wide, the Lord dances here with His hair well dressed. He also granted all powers to His vehicle Nandhi in this temple. Following this sanction, other temples began the Adhikara Nandhi practice later. Adhikaram in Tamil means power. | | |
