From Chennai:

Distance to Sabarimala from Chennai 780 km.

Special state buses from Chennai to Pamba is available from 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 pm at an interval of one hour. Ticket cost Rs. 510/=. Runs through Theni, Cumbum.

Trains: Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express leaves Chennai at 3.25 p.m. and Thiruvanathapuram Mail at 7.45 p.m. Get down at Kottayam.

From Pondicherry:

There are three routes to Sabarimala from Pondicherry.

1) Pondi-Villupuram-Tiruchi-Madurai-Kuttralam-Punalur-Pamba 650 km

2) Pondi-Villupuram-Tiruchi-Dindigul-Kumuli-Erumeli-Pamba 625 km

3) Pondi-Villupuram-Salem-Coimbatore-Guruvayoor-Kottayam-Erumeli-Pamba 750 km.

Trains:

No special trains are available from Cuddalore to Sabarimala. Devotees can avail the Pothigai express from Chennai at 8.00 p.m. to Shencottah via Villuppuram and reach Sabarimala from there.

From Vellore:

1. Vellore-Ambur-Vaniambadi-Tirupathur-Dharmapuri-Bhavani-Mettur-Perundurai-Coimbatore-Palakkadu-Guruvayoor-Chottanikkara,Vaikom-Kottayam-Erumeli-Pamba-Sabarimala 830 Km.

2.Vellore-Tiruvannamalai-Tiruchi-Madurai-Kuttralam-Shencottah-Kottayam-Vadaserikara-Pamba-Sabarimala 760 km.

3.Vellore-Tiruvannamalai-Tirukovilur-Madapattu-Ulundurpettai-Tiruchi-Dindigul-Theni-Cumbum, Erumeli-Pamba-Sabarimala 689 km.

From Erode:

Those travelling by train may take any train to Thiruvananthapuram, get down at Chegannur and proceed to Sabarimala.

No direct bus facility is available from Erode. They may choose Salem-Guruvayoor; Salem-Ernakulam Express State buses running through Erode. They may get down either at Guruvayoor or Ernakulam and proceed to Sabarimala.

Salem-Guruvayoor buses run through Erode, Coimbatore, Palakkadu and Trissur. Distance between Erode and Ernakulam is approximately 310 km.

From Coimbatore:

Those going by train can choose any train bound to Thiruvananthapuram, get down at Chengannur and proceed to Sabarimala.

There are three routes from Coimbatore to Sabarimala:

Coimbatore-Trissur-Perumbavoor-Thodupuzha-Eerattupetta-Kanjirapalli-Erumeli-Chalakkiam-Sabarimala covering 330 km.

Coimbatore-Trissur-Ernakulam-Arur-Cherthalai-Alappuzha-Pathanamthitta-Pamba-Sabarimala covering 380 km.

Coimbatore-Palakkadu-Ernakulam-Kottayam-Tiruvalla-Pathanamthitta-Pamba-Sabarimala covering 360 km.

From Tiruchi:

Buses are operated from Tiruchi to Manapparai, Dindigul, Batlagundu, Periakulam, Theni, Usilampatti, Cumbum, and Kumuli.

Tiruchi-Kumuli travel distance will be 241 km.

Kerala state buses are available from Kumili to Vandiperiar, Pambanaru, Mundakkayam, Kanjirapalli and Pamba via Erumeli covering a distance of 115 km.

From Tirunelveli:

Those going by train can take the Chennai-Guruvayoor Express and get down at Chengannur and then take a bus to Sabarimala.

Going by bus, they may go through Shencottah, Achankoil, Ariyangavu, Punalur, Pathanamthitta and Pamaba and proceed to Sabarimala.

Other bus route is Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottarakkara, Chalakyam, Pamba and Sabarimala covering 329 km.

From Madurai:

By bus, Erumeli can be reached from Madurai through Nagercoil, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottarakkara, Pandalam covering 474 km.

The other route by bus shall be Madurai, Kuttralam, Shencottah, Achankoil, Ariyangavu, Kulatupuzha-Erumeli covering 385 km.

The other choice shall be Madurai, Cumbum, Kumili, Vandiperiar, Kanjirapalli and Erumeli covering 253 km.

Erumeli to Pamba Ranni route covers 80 km.

The jungle route from Erumeli known as Peru vazhi pathai or long route covers Kalaikatti, Azhudha, Karimalai, Pamba and Sabarimala stretching to 56 km.

Pamba to Sabarimala: 5 km.

Daily state buses are available from Madurai to Pamba.

Trains:

There is no dirain link from Madurai to reach Sabarimala. Pothigai Express from Channai arrives at Madurai at 5.00 a.m. The devotee can go up to Shencotta and proceed by buses to Sabarimala.

There are also passenger trains from Madurai at 6.30 a.m., 11.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. These trains can be used up to Shencottah.

Kerala state bus services:

Sooner Sabarimala season begin, buses are operated from Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Pandalam, Kottarakara, Ernakulam and Erumeli. Charges would be 30 percent extra than normal rates.

Mains Sabarimala routes and distances:

From Kottayam:

Kottayam-Kozhancheri-Ranni-Pamba – 119 km

Kottayam-Kodungur-Manimala-Pamba – 105 km

Kottayam-Manimala-Athikayam-Pamba – 103 km

Kottayam-Ponkunnam-Erumeli-Pialapalli-Pamba – 90 km

From Erumeli:

Erumeli-Ranni-Vadaserikarai-Pamba – 76 km

Erumeli-Kannamalai-Pamba – 56 km

Erumeli-Athikayam-Perunadu-Pamba – 64 km

Erumeli-Chethongarai-Athikayam-Pamba – 69 km

From Pandalam, the route covers Pathanamthitta, Vadaserikarai-Pamba, the distance being 84 km.

From Shencottah:

Shencottah-Punalur-Pathanamthitta – 170 km

Kumuli-Vandiperiar-Erumeli-Pamba – 180 km

Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram-Pathanamthitta-Vadaserikarai-Pamba -225 km
